inOut in Rennes: the place to be to explore the mobility of the future!

29 mars 2019

This week took place inOut, a key event on tomorrow’s mobility, at the Couvent des Jacobins Exhibition and Trade Centre in Rennes (France). French and international professionals debated the issues linked to the revolution in mobility and came together to discuss the latest innovations. Here are some of our favorite contents for technology and startup aficionados within this great event.

A WORLD TOUR OF NEW MOBILITY

Because new mobility goes beyond borders, inOut helped participants explore urban mobility projects developed on the other side of the globe. We checked these specific tech topics for you:
“Integration of autonomous vehicles within urban public transport: challenges and opportunities”. This workshop brought together experts from the industry and public sector to discuss the challenges and opportunities linked to the arrival of autonomous vehicles in our towns and cities. Further details from Henriette Cornet, “Design for Autonomous Mobility” Team Leader for the research programme on autonomous vehicles TUMCREATE in Singapore, in our article.
“What is the role of micro-mobility in towns and cities?” Xavier Mirailles from the American startup Lime which recently launched its free-floating electric scooters will be in attendance to touch on the rapid expansion in micro-mobility. Read our interview with his French colleague, Arthur-Louis Jacquier (GM for Lime France).
“Sustainable urban mobility in towns and cities throughout the developing world”. Workshop co-hosted by Marion Hoyez from the association CODATU (for ‘Cooperation for the Development and Improvement of Urban and Suburban Transport’) with a focus on the project undertaken at Central Do Brasil station. Find out more
“What exactly does ‘intelligent and connected parking’ mean?” Pierre-Julien Harbonnier, CEO of Parkki actually participated in our top event « Market Pitch », a meeting between 17 transportation & mobility startups and big companies from the sector (including Orange, Enedis, JC Decaux, etc.).  To be perfectly up to date with what is possible in IoT and parking issues, discover our interview with Pierre-Julien.
“What has ‘mobility as a service’ to offer to markets?” Ziad Khoury, co-founder of Padam (simulation tools and turnkey platform for on-demand transportation) was the animator of a workshop that aimed to find the good balance between technological or organizational innovations. We also met the startup’s marketing director (interview).
